Prep for October 1st rehearsal

Great job last week!  You guys sounded awesome on Rolling in the Deep after we put in the accents and fixed bowing.  Let's focus on that this week for practice:  So here's what we want you to work on for our Oct 1st rehearsal....  For Hanna & Sadie, I will send you a PDF of your new parts.  Check your e-mail on Wed.

Connie and I are currently checking parts and will get them out to you in PDF forms.  That way you will have the correct bowing and articulation for your parts. They will be out hopefully by tomorrow for the following songs...
Rolling in the Deep
I"m Yours
Love Story
Viva La Vida

Please practice the parts that you do have for the above songs.  If we don't get the PDFs out then you will get your parts next Tuesday.

Next week we will also have a couple workshops:
Violin positioning
Facial expressions

Save the Date Planetarium Black Tie Event:  Thursday Oct 11 at 6pm (this is when the event starts) I currently do not know what time we are supposed to arrive and where we are meeting

  1. Prep for Oct 8th - Sorry the blog is not working right now. Trying to get this problem fixed.

Please work on accents with Rolling in the Deep. Play at the frog for repeated notes. Do 100 bow swings a day with a curved pinki and thumb. 1st finger closer to the 2nd finger but not touching. Just make sure the 1st finger is not too far away. Practice our different choreography for Rolling for next time.

Defying Gravity: Practice dance - step touch, step touch
Facial expressions - think of a happy time, sad or mad experience and look at your expression in the mirror. Your goal is to hold that expression for 1 min

Next rehearsal: Please bring a stand and pencil.

Review Love Story and work on your old part for Rolling
I'll bring copies of the fixed parts for Pamela and will give Lily her part for Rolling at her lesson

More info about the Planetarium by next week
